Dissertation for conferring the scientific degree of candidate of medical sciences in the specialty 14.01.23 – radiation diagnostics, radiation therapy. – Kharkiv Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, Kharkiv 2020. The dissertation work presents a theoretical generalization and a new solution to a scientific problem - increasing the efficiency of diagnosis, determining the stage and prevalence of gastric cancer by developing a set of sonographic criteria using triplex echography with comparatively of MDCT . The study included 143 patients operated on for gastric cancer (GC). Preoperative diagnostics of gastric cancer included: fibrogastroscopy (FGS), X-ray examination, multi-detector computed tomography (MDCT), ultrasonography (USG). The final diagnosis of gastric cancer was carried out on the basis of a histological examination of the biopsy material. The results of instrumental studies were compared with the results of the operation. Normal ultrasound semiotics was presented in 37 patients without gastric pathology. The reliability and validity of diagnostic methods was determined by the following generally accepted classical indicators: sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, predictability. The method developed by us made it possible to diagnose pyloric stenosis in patients with cancer of the gastric antrum, and also metastatic lesion of the lymph nodes in locally advanced gastric cancer. Key words: gastric cancer, echography, ultrasonography, multidetector computed tomography, fibrogastroscopy, X-ray examination of the stomach.
