The dissertation research is devoted to the problem of psychological correction of communicative activity of senior preschoolers with disorders of mental development in preschool institutions. A functional model of the communicative activity process has been developed, which takes into account the dynamics of the communication process and the internal relationships between the behaviors and actions of children in individual communicative acts. The program of experimental research of communicative development of senior preschoolers who have disorders of mental development with same age peers is substantiated. It is established that corrective assistance to children with disorders of mental development should be directed in the following areas: diversification of the repertoire of communication methods and development of communication skills; development of the ability to be self-aware and to perceive peers as subjects of communication; formation of emotionally positive perception of peers; formation of the communication need; formation of children's social representations, awareness and reproduction of social relations while playing, improvement of children's communication skills; fostering respect for peers and adults. The effectiveness of the implementation of the process of psychological correction of communication of children with disorders of mental development with peers in preschool education is proved.
