The thesis for the degree of Candidate of Technical Science in the specialty 05.15.09 – “Geotechnical and Mining Mechanics”. – Dnipro University of Technology, Dnipro, 2021. The dissertation is devoted to the important scientific problem solution in the field of coal mining, namely in determining the patterns of the gas-saturated coal mass deformation, which located around the mining excavation, in order to find the migration zone of free methane. For the first time, it is established that the ratio of relative values logarithms of current and final permeability of gas-saturated coal mass is directly proportional to its equivalent stress state and strength characteristics of out-of-bounds deformation. These date allow to create a predictive numerical geomechanical model of methane reservoir migration paths. The problem of identifying zones of the rock mass maximum loosening and fracturing, which is under the lava influence, is set and solved. Based on the complex analysis and the carried-out researches the technique of methane reservoirs migration forecasting in a rock mass during coal seams excavation is developed.
