Shved A. Theoretical and methodological aspects of forming a strategy for managing the economic development of regions

The essence of the concept of "economic development", which is understood as a purposeful, progressive change in the composition, location and interaction of elements, level and quality of the economic system, increasing its efficiency. Peculiarities of formation of strategy of management of economic development of regions are defined. It is concluded that the management of the development of a particular socio-economic system is aimed at ensuring progressive change, but in a crisis should also prevent negative changes that slow down or delay economic growth, and as a consequence – and economic development. A study of systemic problems of the current level of management of economic development of the regions of Ukraine. Given the results of the analysis of the efficiency of economic activity of the regions of Ukraine for GRP, a conclusion is made about the significant imbalance of economic activity of the regions. Methodological support for the formation and implementation of a strategy for managing the economic development of the Kharkiv region has been developed, which will provide an opportunity to eliminate problematic issues for government officials, business representatives and private investors. As a result of the study, it was concluded that the state regional policy should be aimed at creating self-sufficient strong regions, with strong economies and financial capabilities, in order to achieve a synergistic effect with the judicious use of tools and methods of management influence.
