Object of research: processes of organizational and economic support of development of the Ukrainian-Polish cross-border region. Purpose: development of theoretical and methodological bases of development of the Ukrainian-Polish cross-border region and development of practical recommendations on improvement of mechanisms of its maintenance. Methods: historical, analysis and synthesis, abstract-logical, induction and deduction, economic-statistical, generalization, comparison, grouping, structural-functional, system and synergetic, economic-mathematical modeling, strategic analysis, graphical visualization. Novelty: definition of concept "cross-border region", which is defined as a territorially integrated, organizational and economically formed formation of two or more border regions of countries delimited by a common border, which characterized by interpenetration, mutually beneficial ties and relations in various areas of social and economic interests; the system of organizational and economic support of the cross-border region, which is proposed to be formed of three main blocks: administrative-managerial, organizational-financial and institutional-organizational, the interaction of which allows to develop effective mechanisms of cross-border cooperation; scientific and methodological principles of dividing cross-border regions into weakly integrated, semi-integrated and highly integrated; mechanism of financial and organizational support of the cross-border region, which is presented as a set of elements, the combination of which in the context of financial sources, instruments, forms and levers is aimed at achieving targets, synergy and cross-border effect and reflects their interaction, the process of accumulation of financial resources for the implementation of the tasks of the cross-border region functioning, monitoring and control over the use of funds are improved. Scope of application: in the activities of the Department of Finance of the Lviv Regional State Administration in substantiating the strategic directions of cross-border cooperation and development of the Regional Program on International and Cross-Border Cooperation, European Integration for 2020, Information Center for Promotion of Cross-Border Cooperation "Neighborhood" in Program "Poland-Belarus-Ukraine" to substantiate the strategic directions of development of the cross-border region in economic, social, scientific-educational, cultural, tourist, security areas with a focus on the use of domestic endogenous potential and ensuring an integration breakthrough on a modernization basis, Lviv Chamber of Commerce and Industry during exhibition and fair events both in Lviv region and in Lublin and Rzeszów voivodeships; in the educational process of the Lviv Institute of Management in teaching the disciplines "International Economics", "Foreign Economic Activity", "Management of Foreign Economic Activity", "State and Regional Administration", "Economics and External Relations of Ukraine".
