Essay

The dissertation comprehensively and systematically studies the modernization processes in Chinese society of the period of "reforms and openness" from the standpoint of identifying the place of the traditional Confucian value component in them. Based on the analysis of state and party documents of the period, the sequence of gradual steps of the Chinese leadership in the direction of supporting the country's transformation processes on the historical and cultural national foundation played by Confucianism is shown, and their general and sectoral variability is established. The evolution of the views of the Chinese leadership on the importance of cultural and civilizational values ​​for the development and development of the country is traced and the connection of actualization of specific ideologies, concepts and imperatives of Confucianism with the historical logic of modernization processes. The forms and ways of using the ideological potential of Confucianism at different stages of the modernization process in China during the period of "reforms and openness" and its influence in certain spheres of public, socio-economic, political and cultural life of China, as well as in foreign policy. It is noted that the idea of ​​"soft power" as a way to establish contacts in interpersonal communication and gain a position of dominance in communication is deeply inherent in the Chinese mentality and is ingrained in the Chinese cultural heritage. In the Chinese version, "soft power" has become the art of persuasion, the use of cultural resources and political ideals to influence people in other countries.
