Essay

The dissertation is one of the first in Ukraine comprehensive studies of the right to personal integrity, the essence of this right in terms of its modern understanding and traditional conceptual load in light of current trends in society and law, medical and biological scientific progress, guarantees of protection of this right, its development in the European Court of Human Rights case law and the peculiarities of administrative support. The specificity of the ratio of personal integrity with dignity and human autonomy is determined, which showed the growing importance of the aspect of autonomy in the modern understanding of personal integrity, which is due to scientific medical and biological scientific progress and is provided practicaly by informed consent to any external intervention. It is generalized that personal integrity as a value is to some extent protected by all human rights and freedoms, but most often it is seen in the prohibition of torture, inhuman and degrading treatment and punishment, the right to personal security, respect for private life.
