The dissertation is devoted to the decision of an actual problem - increase of energy efficiency of electromechanical complexes of fans of the main ventilation of mines, by development and introduction of effective methods of smooth start of driving synchronous motors with their work within energy-oriented limits of starting characteristics. To solve the problem, the methods and means of starting synchronous motors in terms of their functionality and energy efficiency in the complex of electric drives of the main ventilation fans of the mines were analyzed. The structures of energy-efficient synchronous electric drives and methods of their control for use in the ventilation of the main ventilation of iron ore mines are substantiated and developed. The method of cyclic alternating control of blocks of multilevel IGB transistor converter of electric energy for power supply of synchronous motors of electromechanical complexes of fan installations of mines is improved. A comparative evaluation of their modes of operation is performed taking into account the proposed principle of separate change of amplitude and frequency of output voltage. A method for forming the optimal output voltage curve of the frequency converter and introducing it into the structure of energy-efficient systems of electric drives of fans of the main ventilation of mines is developed. A set of laboratory and field tests of energy efficiency of the proposed methods of smooth start-up of synchronous motors of fans of the main ventilation of mines is carried out. The proposed technical solutions help to increase the energy efficiency of electromechanical complexes of fans of the main ventilation of mines by reducing starting currents and reducing electricity consumption during start-up.
