Essay

The purpose of the present study is to determine the effect of wind turbine (WT) size and the value of limitation imposed on energy generation capacity upon the volume of electric power production in the specified wind conditions by developing respective mathematical models. The following was first ever developed mathematical model of WT power generation that allows to determine WT power curve based on rated power and rotor diameter parameters and static mathematical model that takes into consideration the correlation between generation capacity, restrictions imposed on its generation capacity, and sizes of WT in specified wind conditions of WT operation. Also was developed method of efficient distribution of the established limitations imposed on wind power station (WPS) among numerous WTs that are the constituents of the WPS. The results of work enable to determine predictable volumes of WPS energy production and to calculate lost volumes of power generation caused by imposed limitation as well as to efficiently distribute WPS power generation capacity among the multiple WTs which are the WPS constituents.
