Essay

The thesis presents new approaches to solving the current scientific and practical problem of modern medicine-improving the diagnosis and results of treatment with Lyme disease, combined in different versions with the first diagnosed pulmonary tuberculosis and giardiasis. Patients' awareness of Lyme borreliosis was clarified; epidemiological, clinical and serological criteria of its non erythematous form combined with the newlydiagnosed pulmonary tuberculosis and giardiasis were studied; the etiological structure of Lyme borreliosis in the presence of concomitant newly diagnosed pulmonary tuberculosis and giardiasis was studied; the complex therapy of patients with the use of rifampicin and ornidazole was optimized. The necessity of carrying out in patients with newly diagnosed pulmonary tuberculosis, in the presence of intoxication syndrome, signs of cardiovascular and digestive system damage and the fact of tick bite in the anamnesis, additional laboratory examination for Lyme borreliosis and giardiasis, using two-stage sera of IgM and IgG antibodies to B. burgdorferi s. l. and parasitoscopy of feces for the presence of Giardia cysts.
