Essay

The thesis solved an urgent scientific and technical problem, which consisted in the development and creation of new promising polycrystalline materials based on cubic boron nitride with a homogeneous structure, increased damping properties and wear resistance, by the method of reaction sintering under high pressure of cubic boron nitride with refractory titanium compounds and/or metals (Al, Co, Ni), by applying a titanium CVD coating to the initial cBN powders and using two-stage high-pressure sintering of cBN powders with preliminary impregnation of the compressed powder with aluminum to homogeneous distribution and subsequent chemical interaction between the components of the charge, as well as by simultaneous formation of solid solutions based on AlN, TiB2, TiN compounds, which allows to obtain homogeneous composites with increased damping properties and wear resistance.
