Essay

The prevalence of dental caries among young children in Ukraine is increasing, so the development of an antenatal scheme for the prevention of dental diseases is becoming more and more relevant. In an experiment on rats, the optimal period of administration of odontotropic drugs was established - the second half of intrauterine development with further continuation of prophylaxis during lactation. In a radioisotope study, it was established that the antenatal administration of sodium fluoride to females prevents a decrease in the intensity of protein biosynthesis in the molars and jaws of the offspring, induced by a cariogenic diet. Administration of a complex of drugs (sodium fluoride, calcium glycerophosphate, and Aerovit vitamins) to female rats during the second half of pregnancy and lactation inhibited the development of the carious process in their offspring more effectively than when these drugs were used separately. Radioisotope studies established that administration of a complex of drugs to female rats during pregnancy and lactation leads to intensification of protein and mineral metabolism in calcified tissues. The use of a complex of drugs of the new generation "Calcyker", "Alphavit for pregnant women" and "Vitaftor" in rats in the ante- and postnatal period proved to be the most effective and can be recommended to women in the middle of the second trimester of pregnancy and during breastfeeding in order to form resistant to cariogenic dental factors and thereby prevent the development of caries in children. In pregnant women, when using a complex of drugs that regulate calcium-phosphorus metabolism, ensure the correct development of tooth tissue and bone tissue of the skeleton and have an anti-caries and anti-inflammatory effect, the caries prevention efficiency in 4 months was 29.8%, the state of periodontal tissues and the state of cavity hygiene improved mouth, biochemical indicators of oral fluid both in women during pregnancy and in their newborn children. Spectrocolorimetric studies of periodontal tissues showed that the developed complex contributes to increasing the effectiveness of the hyaluronic acid-hyaluronidase protection system, and also allows to restore the impaired functional state of the microcapillary bed of the gums and improve blood flow in them.
