At the same time, part of pine-beech forest crops was created in types of forest growth conditions that are not typical for Scots pine - fresh (2.1% of the total area of pine-beech stands) and moist (1.2 %) fertile site types. In general, more than half of the stands with participation of pine and beech (54.5% of the occupied area) are formed in fresh fairly fertile site types , 38.5 % - in moist fairly fertile site types, 2.7 % in fresh fairly infertile pine site types, and 1.0% - in moist fairly infertile pine site types. In the area of 3.3 % of the total area, pine-beech stands are created in fresh and moist fertile site types. The average composition of forests of natural origin with participation of Scots pine and European beech is 4.6SP, 3.6BE, 1.8 - other species (POK, HBM, NOM, SY, SBI, CAR, SLI, NS, EL, etc.), and of artificial origin - 6.4SP, 1.7BE, 1.9 - other species. The weighted average age of stands of natural origin, including Scots pine and European beech, is 82.5 years, and that of artificial origin is 59.1 years. The average weighted density of pine-beech stands of natural origin in the study region is 0.69, those of artificial origin - 0.76, and of natural and artificial origin, taken together - 0.71. The average weighted site class of forest with participation of pine and beech – Ia, VI. The average weighted stock of wood per ha in the pine-beech stands of Roztochchia is 333 m3. Their stock in favorable forest growth conditions can reach 420-460 m3/ha. Under the canopy of Roztochchia pine-beech stands, the ground cover is very poorly developed. Its projective cover is usually only 0.05-0.1. Its species composition expanded significantly, the projective cover of grasses increased to 0.4-0.5, and in some places even more, which led to a significant compet- itive threat to the natural regeneration of tree species. It was also revealed that, depending on the forest mensuration indicators of ma- ture pine-beech stands, the annual mass of litter, which can also have a significant im- pact on the natural regeneration of tree species, is, as a rule, only 5-6 t/ha in an abso- lutely dry state. A composition of litter contributes to the formation of a loose forest floor of small thickness (2-4 cm) under the canopy of pine-beech stands, usually weighing 35-23 40 t/ha. When the canopy closure of pine-beech stands is 0.9-0.95, the amount of beech young growth reaches 6-13 thousand pcs/ha, and when the canopy closure decreases to 0.8-0.85 – 17-19 thousand pcs/ha. Natural regeneration of European beech, common hornbeam, sycamore is very weakened, and the regeneration of Scots pine and silver birch is completely inhibited.
