Essay

Dissertation is devoted to problem of early diagnostics of changes in bone mineral density of patients with rheumatoid arthritis, which includes osteopenia and osteoporosis (OP). Using bone densitometry method and X-rays, as well as clinical and laboratory investigations, there were obtained the data, concerning correlation between bone tissue state on the one hand, and age, sex, course of disease and its duration, peculiarities of treatment (especially using of corticosteroids) and degree of patient's disability. The results are introduced in practical rheumatology, and are used in clinics and research institutes.
