Tkachuk V. Silvicultural peculiarities and prospects of the growth of Karelian and Ukrainian birches in Polissya region of Ukraine

The research objects are Carelian and Ucrainian birches. The aim is the solution of the problem of growth of highvalue veined wood. There were used field and laboratory research methods. Results' processing were carried out on a computer. There was found out and stadies natural Ukrainian birch population growth, which gives veined wood. There were stated results of 36-years' growth of Karelian birch. The expediency of growth of these forest cultures in Polissya was confirmed. Investigations have been carried out in this region for the first time. The degree of introduction is creation of forest reserve. The sphere of usage is forestry.
