Essay

The work is devoted to investigation of the relaxation of the collective excitations in finite cold nuclei. The consideration is carried out within the kinetic theory with taking into account the memory effects in the collission integral. The main attention is focused on the pecularities of the damping processes in the finite Fermi systems. It was established that the enhancement of the relaxation of the collective excitations in cold nuclei, cassed by the diffusivity of the Wigner distribution functions in the momentum space, is strongly reduced due to its oscillations. The volume distributions of the damping parameter and the dependence of the collisional width of the isoscalar giant quadrupole resonance on the mass number were calculated.
