Essay

The thesis was dedicated to investigate radiation resistance improvement of nuclear and thermonuclear reactors construction materials by scandium micro-additives. It was shown that under exposure by low-energy ions of about 1,7(1026 m-2 the optimized scandium additives in aluminum alloys reduce by 20% the energy of helium binding with grain-boundary traps and two times increase resistance to swelling. It was disclosed that doping of austenitic stainless steels by scandium improves thermal stability of dislocation structure, which manifests itself as increasing of points fastening dislocation density (up to 26%) and lowering of movable dislocation density (down to 65%) under all the temperatures tested.
