Chorna I. Economical estimation of oil deposits (Prycarpathion oil and gas filds as the illustration)

The study takes on fields of the ciscarpathian oil and gas basin. The thesis aims at developing a methodical approach to making economic evaluations of oil fields, revealing factors determining a field's value and establishing their influence in terms of numbers. It uses methods of mathematical statistics, functional and system analysis and economic-and-mathematical simulation; the results were processed by an IBM PC. The study substantiates and elaborates the criteria and factors of economic field evaluation and develops methodical recommendations for economic evaluation at different stages of a field's life cycle. It determines a discount based on the risks inherent in oil industry and in the subject of study in particular; develops an economic field evaluation programme; builds an economic-and-mathematical model of evaluating factors influencing oil and gas production cost and investment effectiveness. The main theoretical provisions, methodical findings and conclusions of this study have been deve loped into concrete practical recommendations now used by Ukrnafta OJSC of Kyiv and Finekspertom, Ltd. of Ivano-Frankivsk, in government-ordered works of developing a scientific and methodical basis for an oil and gas region comprehensive economic development, and by college teachers and students of economics.
