Serdyuk S. Surgical prophylaxis of lumbar and thoraco-lumbar scoliosis progression

110 patients with a progressive form of lumbar and thoracolumbar scoliosis. Purpose: to devise method of surgical prophylaxis of lumbar and thoracolumbar scoliosis progression on the base of correction and stabilization of basis department of spine. Methods: clinical, roentgenologic, statistical. It was revealed characters of progression of lumbar and thoracolumbar scoliosis, characterizing basis department of spine and was given its clinical description. It was formulated evidences for surgical prophylaxis treatment of lumbar and thoracolumbar scoliosis. It was based the role of surgical correction and stabilization of spine basis department as method of scoliotic deformation prevention. In 79.7% was received an improvement and stabilization, in 20.3% - progression. Suggested method of scoliosis treatment is putting into clinical practice of Republican children clinical hospital, Simferopol City Hospital No.6 and in the educational process of children surgery, orthopedics and traumatology department of the Crimean State Medical University named by S.I.Georgievsky.
