Shcherba I. Effect of embrionic nervous tissue transplantation on dynamic of edema imbibition processes in experimental severe brain trauma.

The dissertation is devoted to the search of new methods to correct the brain edema imbibition at an acute period after severe brain trauma. The influence of transplantation of embrionic nervous tissue is evaluated on experimental model of severe brain trauma. This method was found to stimulate the rate of edema involution process and to be more effective than surgical treatment of trauma region. The method has a protective and regulatory influence on the imbibition of the brain cells. The influence of embrionic nervous tissue transplantation reduces the extend of manifestation of the distrophic-destructive processes in the brain tissue during an acute period after the brain trauma. This evidences for a more favourable prognosis in the subsequent evolution of traumatic disease. The positive influence of transplantation determines the possibility of applycating of this method to the complex treatment of the brain trauma consequences.
