Essay

The thesis summarises longterm work in the central Ukrainian shield, where detailed investigations of the heat flow have been made. A new chain of anomalies was detected and interpreted. A near-surface (0-6 km) and deep (0-90 km) models of the crust and upper mantle layrs have been set up. These models were compared with seismological, geoelectrical, gravimetrical, magnitometrical, helium isotopes and the newest and recent movements of the Earth's surface data available. On the basis of these works a hypothesis of the endogenic regime of the Kirovograd zone - the beginning phase of the riftogenesis was expressed. To corroborate the hypothesis a comparison of the crustal thicness of the Kirovograd activization zone with that of the rift of the world was made.
