Essay

L1210 murine leukemia cells. Study the mechanisms of the relation of L1210 cell's resistance to antitumor drug cisplatin and their sensitivity to regulatory action of the transforming growth factor (TGF) beta1. Methods: electrophoresis, Western-blotting, ELISA, cytomorphology, radiolabeled. Results: cisplatin resistant L1210 cells are refractory to growth-inhibiting and apoptotic action of TGF beta; loss of sensitivity to TGF beta is associated with down regulation of TGF beta receptor type I and up regulation of Smad6 protein; the differences are detected in glycoprotein composition of plasma membranes of the sensitive and resistant cells; resistant cells are sensitive to lectins and hyperthermia. The results would be used in therapy of the patients with cancers resistant to cisplatin. Field of application: medical and biological scientific institutions.
