Essay

The dissertation is devoted to improvement for process control system of Continuous steel casting units(APCS CSCU) for increasing the marketable output of steel. A method of accuracy enhancing for pulse transducer which is arranged on the shaft of pinch rollers and used for the continuous ingot length measurement is quoted in the thesis. An algorithm of the optimal continuous ingot pattern cutting is worked out and researched for a case of setting the acceptable ingot length as several lengths ranges with different priorities. An algorithm of cast termination control which minimizes summary non-gaging ingot scrap and cast terminal stage time is worked out and researched for multi-pass CSCU . The results of thesis were used in APCS CSCU at Kuznetck iron-and-steel works and at Dniprovsky iron-and-steel works.
