Lapshyn O. Conflict in the Former Yugoslavia (1991-1995) in general European policy of the USA

The object of the investigation is USA — Europe relations in the context of the crisis in former Yugoslavia (1991-1995). The aim is to show how the USA used this conflict to solve geopolitical and strategic tasks of Washington in Europe after the end of «cold war». The metods used are systematic analysis, retrospective, comparative and scenario construction. The newness of the work is consideration of a regional conflict as a part of the general international relations crisis. The results of the investigation can be used for working out external political course of Ukraine as to the former republics of Yugoslavia as well as for worting scientific papers and delivering lectures on modern and contemporary history
