The monitoring methods of the undeground gas pipeline insulation surface condition are considered. In qualities of a monitoring parame-ter it is selected dependence of a current losses on a damage of an insulation surface degree. It is developed the methods of a current determination in a gas pipeline which enable synchronously to determine a current in a gas pipeline and distance from it axes. Besides the outside magnetic fields are taken into account. The device for realization of monitoring is developed.
