Fe-Al-C alloys. To investigate an influence of laser impulse treatment with surface fusion on structure and properties of nearsurface layer. Methods of investigation are experimental methods of physics of metals: X-ray diffraction, optical and electron microscopy, radiography, magnetomethry. Firstly, it has been shown, that the impulse laser treatment of single crystalls leads to the formation of the several layers of 3-4 мм thickness in nearsurface zone, which differ between each other by structure state of austenite. The features of martensite crystalls formation in this layers have been investigated. The martensite has formed differs by the orientation variants in austenite matrix and by the tetragonality degree. These features are explained by existing of remain thermal distortions of austenite crystal lattice and breaking of coherence between crystal lattices of phase components. The diffusion of alloyed elements from depth to surface occurs during the laser treatment. The regularities of magnetic characteristics changes after laser treatment of surface depending on contents of elements in allloy and from distance to the melted surface have obtained. The relaxation of the coherent strains between crystal lattices of phase components makes the significant contribution to the changes of magnetic characteristics. The fields of use are all areas of engeneering where the improvement of operational properties of nearsurface layers is needed.
