Research subjects: grape vines and their individual organs, soil, irrigation water, grape berries, table wines. Research objectives: the study and development of ways to increase the productivity of irrigated grape plantations on the basis of the use of the optimal water supply of plants and special techniques of grape culture on low productive soils. Methods: methods generally accepted in irrigated grape growing were used. Theoretical and practical results: recommendations are provided in connection with regimes and ways of the grape irrigation, methods of grape culture on irrigated low productive soils, the use of drop irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, fertilization, ways to decrease the chemical contamination of water sources and to restore the soil fertility in the process of grape production. Novelty of introduced: the complex research on the development of the scientifically founded method of grape culture on irrigated low productive soils was for the first time carried out on the left bank of th e Low Dnieper region. This method provides the preservation and increase in soil fertility and protection of the natural environment. The estimation of the grape culture techniques from the point of view of the consumption and economic use was given. Implementation degree: recommendations have been included in the plans of the introduction of new progressive techniques of grape growing by the Ukrainian Ministry and Glavplodvinprom. The techniques were introduced on the area of 12565 hectars by the Institutes "Ukrghiprosad", "Ukrghiprovodkhoz" and UkrNIIGM and are used for the development and planting of irrigated vineyards and systems of drop irrigation. Efficiency: 7.1 mln.krb. (at the rates of 1990). Sphere, sector of implementation: agriculture, grape growing.
