A new approach to the evaluation of cutting tool states based on the cutting part presentation as a hierarchical elements system with the variable structure is designed. The combined forming methods of the corresponding high-informative images and diagnostic structured - parametric models are stated. They display current composition, position and parameters of defect elements. Models are built as graphs or matrixes of different type, that ensures a possibility of accumulation and processing of diagnostic information in the database of images of cutting part evolution. The new automatic structured methods of cutting tools part defects diagnosing are designed.
