Budivs'kyj P. The folklore and literaru image of the folk hero (Oleksa Dovbush): The problem of the historical and artistic truth.

The research is devoted to the theoretical analyses of the folklore and artistic nature of Dovbush and, of the central problem of this cycle of works - correlation between the historical and artistic truth, and the specification of this tred in the Ukrainian literature. The research reflects the thorough bibliographical work exposing the different genres of the folklore and literary Dovbushiana, reviews in periodics of the 19-20 centuries, acquaintance with the Ukrainian folklore and literary works made by foreign authors and researchers, elucidation of the questions connected with the historical and literary truth, art fiction, addition; devision of the folklore and literary Dovbushiana into the corresponding genres and sorts, clarification of their peculiarities and the central character' image - the famous head of the rebels- through the solution of the main problem. At this wide volume (with the usage of both the well-known and rare printed and manuscript examples, made on the historic territory of Ukraine and abroad) this tremendous poetic and literary area has never been studied before, the certain part of the folklore and the majority of the literary works about the leader of the Oprishky movement are being researched for the first time
