Essay

Nuclear reactions between the lightest-weight nuclei: n + 2H, p + 2H, d + 2H, d + 3H, 4He + 3H were as subjects of researches. Determination of dominant reaction mechanisms in systems of few number of nucleons and clusters, test of the theoretical approaches, and also obtaining new data about formation and decay of light exotic systems and resonances were as the investigation aims. Measurements of differential cross sections and comparing them with the computed theoretical values were as the research methods. Charged particle accelerators and facilities of nuclear physics experiment were as the equipments. The experimental techniques were designed and differential cross section measuring of binary, three and four-body nuclear reactions are realised in kinematically complete experiments, the angular and energy distributions of reaction products and absolute cross sections are obtained. The dominant role of quasi-free scattering of clusters, final-state interaction (FSI) of nucleons and sequential decay processes are revealed. Quasi-free scattering process of neutrons in the n + 2H --> n + n + p reaction and that of protons in the d + 2H --> 2p + 2n reaction are identified. FSI and sequential decay processes in the d + 2H --> p + d + n, d + 3H --> p + n + 3H, d + 3H --> n + n + 3He, 4He + 3H --> d + 4He + n and 4He + 3H --> p + 4He + 2n reactions have been investigated and parameters of resonances 4H *, 4He *, 5He* and 6Li* are obtained as well. Perspectives of the above mentioned reactions were pointed out for studying of neutron-neutron interactions and structure of such resonances as 6He*.
