Soil algae. To establish the specificity of taxonomic structure and peculiarities of distribution on Ukraine territory. Methods - cultural, microscopical, analytic. The first checklist of soil algae of Ukraine was prepared, main floristical complexes described. The systems of some algal divisions were developed. The role of soil algae as biodeterioratiors and reservoirs of high plants virus infection are shown. Sphere of use is phycology, phytopathology, restauration.
