Essay

The stability of thin-walled bars of open cross-section is investigated with account of nonlinear interaction of overall and local buckling modes at finite displacements (coupled, or interactive, buckling), the problems of structural optimization of thin-walled bars are solved with respect to stability constraints under different loading conditions (compression, bending and their combination).
