Essay

The large-scale processes in the ocean-atmosphere system are explored - North-Atlantic oscillation, El-Nino-Southern oscillation in Pacific, interdecadal climatic processes in the Atlantic, influencing on regional Ukraine climate, and also Ukraine climate features, determining by these large-scale processes. The links between the elements of El-Nino-Southern oscillation phenomenon, surface temperature anomalies relations with heat fluxes in the Atlantic ocean, climate variability in the Atlantic ocean on interdecadal scales are explored in the Thesis. The seasonal instability of the atmosphere-ocea interaction process is studied using characteristic Lyapunov exponents. It is shown, that spring instability in the tropical Pacific ocean is related to the growth of El-Nino event. The phenomenon of the synoptic processes intensity modulation by low-frequency atmospheric circulation processes is studied using bispectral analysis. The method of canonical correlation analysis is used to explore a relation between the precipitation on the Ukraine territory with the atmospheric circulation, conditioned by the intensity and cyclone trajectories modulation by North-Atlantic oscillation. Surface wind field structure in the Black Sea is analysed, its seasonal cycle and generating mechanisms are studied.
