Matter for research is shaft rock mass stability. Objective of research is to determine mechanism of generation of shaft rock mass and shaft lining mode of deformation and to develop on this basis a complex of methods and means for active control of the "lining-rock mass" system conditions in order to ensure repair-free maintenance of mine shafts. Methods are integrated research (theoretical and experimental). Novelty: mechanism of generation of shaft rock mass mode of deformation has been pioneered and its stability criterion has been obtained. Subject of research is shaft rock mass and shaft lining mode of deformation. Field of application shall be coal-mining industry
