Essay

Mechanism of diffusion processes at an atomic level and it correlation with behavior of crystal lattice at mechanical shock deformation were investigated by molecular dynamics simulations and experimental investigations. Criterion of contribution of different mechanisms in mass transfer was proposed. The interstitial atom causes formation of distortion area in a crystal - cluster, which consist of up to 18 atoms. In FCC crystals the number of atoms in the cluster twice exceeds those for BCC.
