Essay

Molecular mechanisms involved into PI3-kinase dependent transdaction of extracellular signals. To study the structural and functional peculiarities of ribosomal protein S6 kinases - S6K1 and S6K2. To analyze the expression profile and subcellular localization of kinases in normal and tumor human tissues. The following approaches have been used: cDNA cloning, expression of recombinant proteins, Northern blot analysis, generation of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies, immunological methods, yeast two hybrid system, confocal microscopy. New isoform of ribosomal protein S6 kinase -S6K2, have been identified. The structural and functional peculiarities of ribosomal protein S6 kinases - S6K1 and S6K2 have been studied. Alterations in expression profile and subcellular localization of kinases have been detected in normal and tumor human tissues. Application of S6 kinase as a marker in medicine for diagnosis of oncopathologies have been proposed.
