Fuchylo Y. Biological, ecological and technological fundamentalses of forest plantations in Ukraine

Object: forest plantations of fast growing species are the object of dissertation investigation.Objectives: the theoretic basis and effective methods of planting and growing of forest plantations of fast growing species (pine, spruce, poplar and willow) for industrial wood raw materialMethods of investigation and apparatus: methods of biometrics and forest inventory, methods of silviculture, agricultural chemistry, physiology, ecology and math statistic.Theoretical and practical results: The scientific concept of creation and formation of forest plantations in a flat part of Ukraine is justified, thus:- the scientific representations about potential and actual productivity of Scots pine, Norway spruce, poplar and willow stands of trees and features of creation and formation of their plantations are detailed; - some highly productive forms of arboreal species for accelerated cultivation of timber are selected;- technology of creation of plantations is advanced; - the programs of formation of optimum consistency of plantations of a pine and spruce on balances and saw wood at gentle and strong intensity of care cutting is designed;- the economical and ecological efficiency of forest plantations is determined. Newness of introduced: - productivity and features of formation of second (vegetative reproduction) poplar plantation generations on obtaining of mean and large timber for the first time is determined;- the supplementary signs of trees vitality estimation at them selection in care cutting (sizes of crown and humidity of trunk) was advised; - the mathematical models of relations between: basic morphometral characteristics of a willow rod; weight of scrubs of parent plantations of willows and output standard cuttings; consistency of pine stands and other them meansuration characteristics are designed; - on the basis of developed models of dynamics of a reserve and mean increment of investigated species stands optimum terms of their plantations cutting are justified.Level of applying: the recommendations on creation and cultivation of high-performance forest plantations are applied by forestry firms of State committee of forestry and Ministry of agro-industrial policy of Ukraine.Field of applying: forestry.
