Essay

The results of investigation the problem, concerned with polyhedral the basis principles of increasing cutting tool wear-resistance due to design of discontinuous coatings that ensure suitable stress-strain are worked up and scientifically grounded. The methods to ensure adhesion and cohesion strength of tool discontinuous coatings based on the right choice of their parameters and structuring are suggested. Recommendations and industrial technologies to improve wear-resistance and parameters, which govern machining performance of cutting tool on the basis of design and deposition of discontinuous coatings.
