The subject of the research is the process of digital equipment testing, the process is based on composition-decomposition approach; the aim of research - improvement of the efficiency of by-component diagnosis of digital devices; methods of research and equipment used - analytical, experimental; theoretical and practical results - methodological fundamentals of by-component testing of digital devices are developed, the methods of circuits fragmentation, on the basis of which software-hardware testing devices have been developed, all these measures enable to improve the efficiency of fragmental search of failures; level of implementation - within the branch; sphere (branch) of application - manufacturing of electronic equipment.
