Essay

The thesis presents results of critical analysis of the flora of the Carpathians. The first comprehensive checklist of all native vascular plants taxa is proposed; it covers 3982 taxa. Comparative-structural analysis was performed and areologic structure of the flora has been analysed. The consolidated scheme of phytogeographical division of the Carpathians has been elaborated. Considerable changes have been introduced into the list of Carpathian endemics. The main migratory routes have been outlined. The list of threatened species has been compiled.
