3. Subject - of investigation - stress in pigs.Purpose - examination of biochemical and immunological mechanisms of stress development in pigs and age peculiarities of their adaptation abilities during neonatal period as a basis to elaborate a system of stress prophylaxis. Methods - clinical, morphological, biochemical, immunological and statistical.Novelty - Dissertation covers the investigation of swine adaptation syndrome. As ascertained, all their systems and metabolic processes being closely related to natural resistance are involved in swine adaptation syndrome. Under stressful conditions disintegration of proteins, desamination and peramination of aminoacids, lipolysis, peroxide oxidation of lipids increase, enzyme and non-enzyme links of antioxidant protection system are activated, the immunodeficiency state develops, which is often accompanied by gastro-intestinal, respiratory and other diseases of various etiology. The level of stress-reaction in piglets during transfer to growing depends on the age at weaning, development of the adaptation mechanisms and method of grouping. For the first time vitamins E, C and selenium ration supplements and the use of immunomodifier Porcavirex were tested as a means of prophylaxis of stress in pigs. Results - are widely used in veterinary medicine practice, researches and educational process.Branch - biochemistry, immunology, veterinary medicine.
