Essay

The thesis is devoted to the investigate of interethnic relations' structure in cross-cultural aspect, to study the state of those relations among univessity students in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the tendencies of their further development in multi-cultural state's conditions. As the study has shown, in the case of positive interethnic relations the weight of etnic identity in less than that of gender, vocational and other identities; in the case of negative interethnic relations ethnic categories became the strongest ones and determined social perseption. The reqularities of the transformation of ethnic identity types in the process of interethnic interaction have been revealed. The context of ethnic stereotypes is determined by: (a) real spesific psychological features of each ethnic group; (b) spesifity of these features refraction through the action of interethnic perception mechanisms; (c) the level of ethnic identity explication in interacting ethnic groups; (d) the whole complex of their economic, politic and cultural interrelations. The study has shown the domination of positive tendencies in the interaction of Kazakhs and Russians.
