The statistical mechanical theory of close packed crystals in which stacking sequence of layers is described by quasi-spin variables is developed. The models of equilibrium polytypes and martensitic multilayered structures are proposed. The theory of ordering phase transitions in noble metal alloys with formation long period superstructure is developed.
