Essay

Dissertational work is devoted to research thermodynamic, physical chemical and heat-physical the processes proceeding at processing of pig-iron by magnesium and (or) calcium which are restored in a zone of the electric arch submerged in liquid metal. The thermodynamic circuit of processes of thermal magnesium and calcium oxide restoration in conditions of the increased pressure is developed, optimum composition of mixes for manufacturing the restored block. Scientific bases and methodology of use of restored blocks with a parallel arrangement under the attitude to each other electrodes and at burning between their working ends of an electric arch are developed. It is established, that at restoration of oxides of alkaline-earth metals in a zone of the electric arch shipped in metal, speed of formation of magnesium and calcium steam exceeds speed of their expenditure on reaction of desulfuration and dissolution in metal. For the first time are experimentally determined heat-physical characteristics of restored mixes of the developed structure. Results of physical modeling show an opportunity of steel heating by the submerged electric arch with speeds of 10-14 °С/min. Degree of desulfuration: - Pig-iron - 90-98 % , at a degree of use of magnesium - 95 %; Steel - 90-95 % , at a degree of use of magnesium - 97,28 %.
