The paper considers the temporal and spatial patterns of radionuclide contamination of hydrobionts belonging to different trophic levels in the Dnieper and Volga water reservoirs, the Desna river, the Southern Bug river, small rivers of the Polissia (marshy woodlands) zone, lakes and ponds located within the Ukrainian Polissia and Lisostep (forest-steppe). The method of blocking the radionuclide inflow into the commercial fish in finishing ponds of fish farms has been theoretically and experimentally proved to be efficient.
