Essay

The objects of investigation - kinetic processes under phase transitions in helium heterostructures. The methods of study - pulse nuclear magnetic resonance, precisious pressure measurement, torsion oscillator. The correlation is found between characteristic decay time and quantum diffusion coefficient. The first data are obtained on nuclear spin-lattice relaxation in stratified solid mixture of helium isotopes. The new space-limited diffusion process is observed in two heterogeneous systems. The new features are found of phase transformation BCC - HCP in solid helium. The first data are obtained on equilibrium concentration of light helium isotope at ultralow temperature. It is shown, for the first time, that three-dimensional coherent length in submonolayer of helium-4 on glass substrate is limited from below by pore size.
