Essay

Investigation object: association between cations and anions of dyes. Aim: the aim is to reveal the main factors, governing the formation and stability of dissimilar ionic associates of dyes in aqueous solutions, and thus to elucidate the fundamental regularities of the association process. Methods: spectrophotometry, quantum-chemical calculations. New aspects: the strong interaction was adopted between carbocyanines, rhodamines, thiazines cations and sulfonephtaleins, oxyxanthenes or colourless anions with the essential change of light absorbtion (luminescence). Theoretical and practical results: the regularities of ionic association of dyes and destroying of associates by adding of ionic surfactants was revealed; a method of pre-experimental estimations of associates stability was proposed and substantiated; imaginations about chemical structure of associates was proposed; new methods of concentration detection of ionic surfactants was developed. Degree of application: the developed methods of detection of ionic surfactants have been patented according to legislation
