Essay

Object:extracellular matrix of mesangial, endothelial cells and dermal fibroblasts. Aim: to investigate the role of TGFbeta1 activation in extracellular matrix alterations in diabetes mellitus. Methods: cell culture, biochemical, molecular biology. It was found that the increase of glucose level in mesangial, endothelial cells and dermal fibroblasts stimulates the accumulation of main extracellular matrix components, but mechanisms of the development of indicated alterations are different for each cell type. A key role of TGFbeta1activation in mesangial matrix derangement provides a background for new methods of diabetic nephropathy therapy.
