Essay

The basic idea of the thesis is to develope the theoretical bases of the cut-off cutters design on the basis of the improved method of calculation of the dynamic stability criterion of the cut-off cutter in the process of it kinematic excitation, which is determined from the theoretical time series of the cutting force for total cycle of the cutting and accounts the regime parameters of the cutting process, the design and geometric parameters of the tool, cutoff workpiece profile, dimensions and mechanical properties of the material. To determine the calculated cutting force time dependences there has been developed the mathematical model of the cutting-off process, which includes the mathematical model of the cutting edge of the cut-off cutters, the mathematical model of the cutter-workpiece contact in the process of cutting-off, the theory of the determination of the area and the thickness of sheared layer for the cut-off cutters of arbitrary design.
