The subject of research: Scots pine cenopopulations, half-sib progeny, seedlings and seeds and molecular factors which provide Pinus sylvestris resistsnce against phytopathogenic organisms. The main objective of the thesis is to study genetic potential of cenopopulations of Scots pine in the Western Ukraine and the influence of phytohormones on the growth and development of Scots pine seedlings, as well as molecular mechanisms of their resistance to phytopathogens. Research methods - silvicultural, molecular-genetic, spectrophotometric, biochemical, microbiological, recombinant DNA technology, immunological and immunochemical. The scientific novelty: determination of the high level of genetic variability of the relict Scots pine in cenopopulations by the analysis of chloroplast DNA; characterization of hormonal action of phytohormones on growth and development of Scots pine seedlings; detection and purification of a new plant defensin - PsDef1; creation of Scots pine seven-day seedlings cDNA library which it is cloned and sequenced cDNA PsDef1, sequence which it is deposited in GenBank; production of functionally active recombinant pine defensin 1 with the high antifungal activity, generation of polyclonal antibodies specific toward defensin1 and investigation of PsDef1 expression in Scots pine seedlings tissues. Introduction degree: : the results of the research are planned to be applied for the creation and growing of biologically stable tree, for creation of test systems for estimation of a pine resistance to phytopathogenes, for production of fungistatic preparations; they are used in the educational process in UNFU for the courses "Plant physiology", "Forestry", " Silvicultures", "Foresr phytopathology".
